Grand Challenge

EdTech for Learning is a new not-for-profit established to champion access to, and the usage of, education technologies (EdTech) to improve teaching and learning.  EdTech for Learning will create a range of EdTech solutions that are low cost, easy to deploy, manage and use. These systems will be built upon open-source technology and use EdTech interoperability standards to enable the establishment of EdTech Ecosystems. More importantly, the emphasis will be on identifying, enabling and supporting local social entrepreneurs who will improve teaching and learning in their communities. Together we aim to improve lives around the World through the use of these new EdTech Ecosystem solutions.

Access to good quality education is essential for the prosperity and fulfillment of individuals, organizations, countries and the world as a whole. Modern teaching and learning is, increasingly, dependent on access to good quality online content. Not everyone has access to education. The appropriate use of Education Technology (EdTech) can resolve many access and quality problems. Unfortunately, most EdTech is difficult and expensive to deploy.

The aim of the EdTech for Learning Not-for-Profit is to reduce, significantly, the expense and difficulty to access to online education. The ET4L Not-for-Profit will make available free-to-use solutions based upon best-of-breed open source solutions using state-of-the-art interoperability open standards. Furthermore, the ET4L Not-for-Profit will create and support a community of educationally focused social entrepreneurs to enable this new technology to be used for the specific needs of each community, wherever, it is located in the world.

The focus for EdTech For Learning is where the areas of EdTech Interoperability Standards, EdTech Open Source Solutions and Education Social Entrepreneurs combine.

Partnership is an essential component of our activities. Our team has worked in EdTech for over 25 years and we have significant expertise in the technological aspects. Our long-term success depends upon identifying the right partnerships: partners who can help identify and support the educational social entrepreneurs. Please contact us if this opportunity appeals to you.

We were incorporated in 2023 and so we are at the start of a journey that will take us 5-10 years. We have identified 5 phases of development that culminate in EdTech For Learning in sustainable operation supporting, we hope, hundreds of education social entrepreneurs distributed around the Globe.

Phase 0, Establishment, completed in 2023. We have confirmed that there is a need, albeit in only certain parts of the Globe, for our easy-to-use EdTech. We are in the process of completing some small scale demonstrators as we work through Phase 1, Proof of Technology.
