Projects

Some of our current and potential future projects include:

Achievement Pipeline. The Achievements Pipeline is a systematic framework designed to support the development of the appropriate competencies for an individual. This cyclic pipeline has four stages: (1) Assessing Prior Learning; (2)Generating Learning Materials; (3)Assessing Learner’s Mastery; and (4) Generating Digital Credentials. Together this pipeline enables a person to gain the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities to enable the best career opportunities. Our aim is to create a set of apps to make the Achievements Pipeline a reality.

Workforce Services Apps. A new Generative AI enabled app has been created to make it easier to match Job Seekers with available Job Opportunities. The app makes it easier for Employers to describe, in terms of required competencies, the jobs they want to fill and for Job Seekers to include within their Resumes the competencies they have acquired. Finally the app enables both Job Seekers and Employers to find the best matches between the Job Seekers and the Job Opportunities. Initially this Workforce app has been designed to support the Navajo People.

Interoperability Framework. The aim for this project is to create an open source services framework to enable any learning and teaching app to use Generative AI and the appropriate edtech interoperability standards. The framework will support the edtech interoperability standards of Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), Caliper and xAPI, Access for All Personal Needs & Preferences (AfA PNP), Competencies & Academic Standards (CASE), LTI Resource Search, OneRoster and the Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR). The framework will also support the IETF Standards such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), etc. The initial codebase is NodeJS.

QUILT. The aim of this project is to create a new simple to use open source authoring tool/delivery engine based upon open standards to support the authoring and delivery of digital content. Generative AI is used to support the creation content development process and the conversion of that content into an open standards-based exchange and delivery format: namely 1EdTech Question & Test Interoperability (QTI) 3. The content format is well suited to the delivery of any digital content (not just that for quizzes, tests and assessments) and for the provision of a learning experience that can be personalized according to the accessibility personal needs and preferences of the user.

Open Analytics Infrastructure. The aim of this project is to create an open source data analytics framework to enable the collection, aggregation and analysis of data from apps/tools/systems. The framework uses the 1EdTech Caliper and the IEEE 9274, also known as xAPI, standards for the definition of the data interoperability format. A key objective of this framework is to support the collection of data about the use of Generative-AI, in particular the associated Prompt Engineering. This project will make available the definition of new Metric Profiles (Caliper) and Recipes (xAPI) as well as making the Analytics Repository itself available as open source.
